What is the fastest way to get a real price?
Pictures. Four of them — the whole deck from standing height, a close-up of any lifting edge, the hatch lids, and whatever specifically is bothering you. That is usually enough to give a number instead of a range.
Do you need to see the boat before quoting?
Usually not for carpet or electronics — pictures carry enough. Trailer and bearing work is the exception, because what a hub is doing internally cannot be judged from the outside until it comes apart.
I am not sure what my boat needs. Can I still get in touch?
Yes, and that is a normal first message. Describe what is bothering you and send pictures; working out what the actual problem is comes before working out what it costs.
I have a trip coming up. Should I mention the date?
